Dr. Meltzer is a neuroradiologist and nuclear medicine physician whose NIH-funded research has focused on the application of positron emission tomography (PET) to understanding neuroreceptor function and dysfunction in normal aging, dementia, and other late-life neuropsychiatric disorders. She is also involved in oncologic imaging research and oversaw the clinical evaluation of the worlds first combined PET/CT scanner. She also serves as Director of the Research Technologies Program for the Atlanta Clinical and Translational Science Institute.
